Twitter comments: Adil Rashid’s best career helps England win T20I series against Pakistan

England leg spinner Adil Rashid recorded his best figures in T20 matches on Tuesday and led his team a exciting victory over Pakistan in the series decision at the Old Trafford, Manchester.

Victory also beat England 2-1 in their last limited-time match in the 2021 home season.

Rashid picked up four wickets for 35 runs and helped the hosts limit Pakistan to 154-6 after the visitors won the toss and chose to bat first.

Chase the competitive total, English opening batsman Jason Roy (64 of 36) gave his team a flying start, but in the middle overs the Men in Green started with wickets. Number 8 Chris Jordan had to jump through for the winning runs with only two balls and three wickets left.

“This victory means a lot,” Eoin Morgan, the captain told Sky Sports.

“It was the worst possible field for the way we play, and we won on a wicket that is slow and twisting, so I’m very proud.”

Pitches in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the venue for this year’s T20 World Cup, are spinner friendly, but Morgan said: “I really do not think the ball will turn like that in the United Arab Emirates which played a full season in the IPL (Indian Premier League) last year, but we are ready for all surfaces that turn.”
