Pakistan defeat West Indies in the second T20I to take a 1-0 lead in the four-match series Saturday at Providence Stadium in Guyana.
Thanks to the captain, Pakistan put 157/8 on the board in their allotted 20 overs Babar Azam, who scored a remarkable half-century in the game. The right-handed batsman hits 51 of 40, with the help of 4 fours and two sixes.
Babar was well supported by the wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan. The 29-year-old contributed with 46 off 36 balls — two fours and as much maximum.
For the hosts, versatile Jason Holder was the choice of the bowlers and took 26 runs in his quota of 4 overs. Apart from Container, Dwayne Bravo bagged a pair of caps for 24 runs.
In response to this, West India could only reach 150/4 and lose the match by seven runs. Pakistan versatile player Mohammad Hafeez shine with the bowl and inspire the tour group to defend the total.
Hafeez conceded just six runs in his 4 overs, along with a girl. He also bagged the valued wicket of the Windies opener Andre Fletcher on the second ball of the West Indies innings.
Nicholas Pooran was the only fighter during the chase of the home team. He made an unbeaten 62 runs from 33 deliveries but could not get his team across the finish line.
Here’s how Twitter responded:
Hafeez (4-1-6-1) scored the most combined economic team of 4 overs in Pakistan’s T20Is. Equal to Amir (4-1-6-2) vs UAE in 2016.
