The Bangladeshi cricket team made history by winning their first series against Australia in any format. Bangladesh choked Australia in a modest chase of 128 on Friday to secure a series victory and stand 3-0 in the five-match T20I rubber. Twitter was impressed with the Tigers after their remarkable performance.
Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah played just 52 of 53 deliveries in the first innings, elevating the host to a venerable total in Dhaka. However, Australia’s debutant Nathan Ellis grabbed the spotlight and got a hat trick in his first T20I appearance. Even though it was a difficult deck, the tourists devised a much-needed victory.
Even when Australia lost their captain Matthew Wade early, Ben Mcdermott and Mitchell Marsh kept them in the hunt. However, the game took a massive turn when Mcdermott perished in the 14th over. Mitchell Marsh reached his fifty out of 45 deliveries, but the lack of big shots by the new batsmen increased the pressure on him. Marsh left in the 18th over for 51, making it harder for Australia to reach the target.
Alex Carey and Dan Christian gave a glimmer of hope; however, they eventually fell ten runs short. Mustafizur Rahman was unlucky not to receive the man of the match for his 4-0-9-0 figures. Perhaps Mitchell Marsh’s adaptability at slow lanes and consistent form with the bat is Australia’s biggest positive from their last two series losses in T20Is. As a result, Australia also lost their fifth consecutive T20 series. Before that, Bangladesh had not beaten the men in the T20Is yellow at all. They defeated them by 23 runs and five wickets before a ten-run victory in the third T20I.

What a moment for Bangladesh! First series win against Australia, which improved tremendously in this match but was not enough to race successfully. The penultimate by The Fizz was really the key. 5th consecutive loss in the T20 series by Aus, but let’s appreciate this historic victory! #BANVAUS
