In the fourth T20I of five consecutive series of matches between Bangladesh and Australia, the visitors finally returned to a victory.
By chasing a small goal of 105, Australia often loses wickets, but a quick kick-off Daniel Christian and Ashton Agar’s sensible bat in command inspired a consolation victory for their side.
Christian scored 39 runs from 15 deliveries with the help of one four and five sixes. Interestingly, all of his five maximums came in the singles bowled by the Bangladeshi versatile player Shakib Al Hasan. Agar, on the other hand, scored run-a-ball 27, with 2 fours and one six.
For the hosts, Mahedi Hasan (2/17) and Mustafizur Rahman (2/9) count two wickets each. Nasum Ahmed (1/17) and Shoriful Islam (1/8) a piece of scalp in pieces.
Bangladesh were previously only able to place 104/9 on the board in their allotted 20 overs. Open batter Mohammad Naim top scored with 28 off 36 balls. Hasan also made a valuable contribution of 23 (16).
Mitchell Swepson and Andrew Tye was the choice of the bowlers for the tour party. Swepson bagged three wickets for 12 runs in his 4-over quota, while Tye earned three headers for 18 in 3 overs.
Here’s how Twitter responded:
It took us four games, but Australia beat Bangladesh after a hard fight! Dan Christian’s innings were short but super sweet. 39 of 15 balls scored. Agar also helped us get home with 27 .. before he was caught by Shamim Hossain, and it was a brilliant catch! #BANVAUS
