Twitter reactions: Clinical South Africa whitewashed Sri Lanka with a 10-wicket victory in the 3rd T20I

Undefeated fifties of Quinton de Kock and Reeza Hendricks helped South Africa rubbish Sri Lanka by ten wickets in the third T20I international match played over the series on Tuesday.

The Proteas chased 121 for a win and reached the finish line in 14.4 overs, with De Kock scoring 59 and Hendricks at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

The tourists previously limited the home team to 120/8 in their 20 overs after they were first put into the bowling alley. Bjรถrn Fortune (2-21) and Kagiso Rabada (2-23) took two wickets each for South Africa.

‘The honor to the boys, they played very well after losing the one-day matches. Good preparation for the World Cup. I think from a bowling front we can strive for a better performance in the match, ‘ South African captain Keshav Maharaj said in the submission after the game.

‘In batting it’s about partnerships and that a batsman can always help. Clearly, bubble life has its challenges. But we look to each other for support and build a team ethos.

“We have to find a way together to get it right, and it’s clear from our actions. We can get better in the field and we have to dry up, โ€ Maharaj added.

For Sri Lanka, it was a disappointing series Dasun Shanaka led managed to win even a single match in the three matches.

โ€œThe boys know what they have to do to act, and we will do it. Wickets are key in the T20s, although we started, we only threw wickets in the middle overs, and that’s a source of concern [into the T20 World Cup], โ€ says the losing skipper Shanaka.

Short counts: Sri Lanka 120/8 in 20 overs (Kusal Perera 39; Bjorn Fortuin 2-21) lost to South Africa 121/0 in 14.4 overs (Quinton de Kock 59 *, Reeza Hendricks 56 *) by 10 wickets.
