Twitter reactions: Ruturaj Gaikwad plays as CSK the MI in the reverse match of IPL 2021

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeat Mumbai Indians (MI) in the first leg of the second leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 Sunday at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. With the win, CSK reached the top of the standings.

CSK decided to bat first but had a terrible start and lost four wickets for just 24 runs and Ambati Rayudu retire hurts after a ball of Adam Milne hit his elbow.

But then opener Ruturaj Gaikwad and versatile Ravindra Jadeja their side taken from hot waters. The pair previously added an important 81-run position for the fifth wicket Jasprit Bumrah got rid of Jadeja.

But Ruturaj stays on the fold and dominates the proceedings in the last half of the first innings. The right-handed batsman carried his bat for an unbeaten 88 to help CSK score a competitive 156/6 in their allotted 20 overs.

Ruturaj broke 13 boundaries, including four sixes, during his beautiful batting performance. Dwayne Bravo also hacked in with a valuable 8-ball 23 runs along the order using three maximums.

For MI, Trent Boult (2/35), Milne (2/21) and Bumrah (2/33) each count a few wickets. Rahul Chahar had no scalp, but bowled well and conceded 22 runs from four overs.

In response, the defending champions reached only 136/8 and lost the match by 20 runs. Saurabh Tiwary remained unbeaten on 50 off 40 balls, but he did not get enough support from other players as no one except Sourabh could even cross the 20-run mark.

Deepak Chahar and Bravo was the bowlers’ choice for the Super Kings. Chahar bowled brilliantly and grabbed a pair of scalps for just 19 runs in his quota of 4 overs. Similarly, Bravo scored a three-wicket wicket for 25 runs in 4 overs. Josh Hazlewood (1/34) and Shardul Thakur (1/29) also sparkles and earns one wicket each.
