CONWY, Wales – High-ranking amateur Rose Zhang had an unbeaten week when the United States won six of its eight singles matches on Saturday to beat Great Britain and Ireland in the Curtis Cup.
Zhang won 4-0-1 for the week at the Conwy Golf Club and finished with a 1-win win over Emily Toy in the anchor game. By that time, the United States had won so many games that the Curtis Cup had already been won.
This contributed to a 12 1 / 2-7 1/2 victory for the United States, which extended its dominance in the leading team event for amateur golf for women. The Americans now lead the all-time series 30-8-3.
GB&I achieved its only victory of Caley McGinty, 4 and 3, over Gina Kim. Hannah Darling halved the opening match against American women’s champion Castle Jensen.
It was the first time the Americans have won away from home since a 13-7 victory in 2008 in St. Louis. Andrews.
