Pulisic wants to return quickly
After his diagnosis was confirmed, Pulisic went to social media to confirm that he had been fully vaccinated and was not experiencing any symptoms.
Pulisic was forced to isolate in London, although he was still nominated for the three qualifying matches in the USMNT roster.
The 22-year-old was able to travel this week to his teammates in Nashville, Tennessee, where he participated in team training.
But he was left behind in Nashville when his teammates traveled to El Salvador on Wednesday.
Who can replace Pulisic?
With Pulisic out, US coach Gregg Berhalter could give a start to Konrad de la Fuente, who started well at Marseille after a summer move from Barcelona.
The USA is slim in the wing position, and Tim Weah has to withdraw from the roster due to the injury. Brenden Aaronson, a more natural central player, could possibly also be moved widely to America
Jordan Pefok, Josh Sargent and Ricardo Pepi are the three forward options that Berhalter has at his disposal.
