The former Red Devils full-back thinks Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has added a “full center-back” at Old Trafford.
According to Patrice Evra, Raphael Varane is a “top, top signing” for Manchester United, who says the Real Madrid defender reminds him of Rio Ferdinand.
United have confirmed they have reached an agreement with Varane on Tuesday Target reporting that the final transaction could total £ 41 million ($ 57 million) including additions.
Evra has long been a fan of the 28-year-old and sees similarities between a Frenchman and Red Devils legend Ferdinand, who won six Premier League titles and the Champions League at Old Trafford between 2002 and 2014.

Varane will bring ten years of experience at the highest level in the ranks of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, after initially joining Real Madrid from 2011.
The tower link made 260 appearances for the Blancos and scored 17 goals. He has three La Liga titles and four Champions League crowns to his name, under a whole series of grand honors.
He also became a World Cup winner with France in 2018 and has so far won 79 tournaments at international level, with his most recent outing in Les Bleus’ defeat to Switzerland in Euro 2020.
The bigger picture
United extended their trophy-less run to four seasons in 2020-21, as they were often penalized for basic defensive mistakes and lost concentrations on both local and European stages.
Fans will hope that Varane’s presence will give Solskyjaer’s backline more steel, and it is likely that he will replace Victor Lindelof as first choice as a defensive partner for Harry Maguire, the club’s captain.
