The Indian team is currently in Sri Lanka for the upcoming white ball series with three one-day matches (ODIs) and just as many T20 internationalists (T20Is). Before the battle with limited overs, which started on July 13, the Indian players were involved in a practice match within the group.
The match was a 20-over a side warm-up match between Dhawan XI and Bhuvi XI. As the name suggests, Dhawan XI was captain by Shikhar Dhawan, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar led Bhuvi XI.
After winning the toss, the Dhawan team put 150 runs on the scoreboard, thanks to Manish Pandey‘see heroism with the willow tree. The Karanataka batsman made 63 runs and received appreciation from his teammates. Ruturaj Gaikwad also made a valuable contribution of 30 runs.
In response, Indians of Mumbai (MI) star batsman Suryakumar Yadav scored a quick half-century to give his team a comfortable victory with three overs to spare. Devdutt Padikkal and Prithvi Shaw also shone for Bhuvi XI with the bat and formed a dominant partnership of 60 runs for the starting wicket.
The official Twitter handle of the India Cricket Management Board (BCCI) shared a video where India’s bowling coach Paras Mhambrey explained how the match went and the players performed in difficult Lankan conditions.
‘Shikhar won the toss and chose to bat. His team scored 150 points in the allotted 20 overs. There were useful contributions from Ruturaj, who got 30 runs. Manish Pandey was the highest scorer with 63, “ said Mhambrey in the video.
“The Bhuvneshwar team easily chased the target in the 17th over with Suryakumar Yadav scoring half a century. “Devdutt Padikkal and Prithvi Shaw have entered into an opening partnership of 60 runs.” he added.
