West Indies and Pakistan will tackle each other in the fourth and final match of the ongoing T20I series Tuesday (August 3) at Providence Stadium in Guyana.
It was definitely the crucial series for both teams in their preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup, but unfortunately the matches were hit hard by rain, which forced the officials to eliminate two matches from three matches.
The visitors lead 1-0 after securing a victory in the second game, and they will seek another victory to clinch the series 2-0. On the other hand, the hosts would focus on returning to the series.
Since the rain has already affected the track, the teams that win the lottery will most likely play first. Overall, 23 games have been played at this venue, with 126 being the average first innings score while 89 are the average second innings score.
West India most likely play the series decider without their regular openings Lendl Simmons and Evin Lewis, as both were injured. In their absence, Andre Fletcher can open the turn next door Chris Gayle.
WI XI: Kieron Pollard (c), Andre Fletcher, Chris Gayle, Shimron Hetmyer, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Andre Russell, Jason Holder, Romario Shepherd, Dwayne Bravo, Hayden Walsh, Akeal Hosein.
In the washed-out third game, Shaheen Afridi has been replaced by Haris Rauf and this call is expected to remain the same in the fourth game. Azam Khan’s inclusion on the side will depend on the medical consent, as he was excluded from the second and third games during the training session after suffering a head injury.
PAK XI: Babar Azam (c), Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Sharjeel Khan, Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Hafeez, Shadab Khan, Hasan Ali, Mohammad Wasim, Usman Qadir, Haris Rauf, Sohaib Maqsood / Azam Khan.
