As WNBA is boring and the last playoff spot is still in the air, there is still a lot left to decide in the last week of the season. One game that needs little decision is the only game of Tuesday with the Indiana Fever against the Atlanta Dream. They are the only two teams in the league eliminated from the playoffs.
Despite the abyss of both teams, there is still a lot to play for and there are still many interesting things to look at. The Fever needs to evaluate the talent they have and give other players a longer look. Victoria Vivians took advantage of her opportunities and was a shining star in this dark season.
The Dream has had a sensational play by Courtney Williams all season, and it’s a joy to watch it a few more times. She had an All-Star season, averaging 16 points per game and played the team in minutes with 34. The minutes of Aari McDonald also passed and it is good to see that she has more representatives at WNBA level get.
The road to victory for both teams was difficult. They are a combined 13-45 on the season. So, who is going to stand up and win? The Fever will need Vivians to have an outstanding game if they want to win. Bank production was also inconsistent, so a good performance by Jantel Lavender could be the difference between winning or a fifth consecutive loss.
The dream needs a few things to go right if they want to win. Courtney Williams will have to continue her All-Star season and put in an excellent performance. Aari McDonald will have to make use of her driveway within minutes. And the dream will have to win the rebound battle. If all these things break right, the dream should be able to win late in the fourth.
