Wolves are aiming for a € 25 million move for the Guedes player in Valencia

Wolves sign an agreement for Valencia star Goncalo Guedes, Purpose can confirm.

The English club will make an offer of between € 25-30 million (£ 21-26m / $ 29-35m) for the Portuguese wing, who has appeared as an irreplaceable player for Valencia in the past year.

Valencia do not want to lose Guedes, but need to find a way to balance the books, and owner Peter Lim’s relationship with agent Jorge Mendes could help ease a move to Wolves ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

Guedes’ team in Valencia

Mendes was responsible for bringing Guedes to Valencia in 2017, initially on loan at PSG before a deal was signed the following summer for € 40m (£ 34m / $ 47m), making him the most expensive signing in club history.

He scored 23 goals in 137 matches for Valencia, while also playing in Portugal’s World Cup and Euro 2020 groups.

As a Portuguese international, Guedes has long been a target for Wolves management, and the club currently has nine of the wing’s compatriots who are currently in the first team while being led by former Benfica boss Bruno Lage.

The club added Yerson Mosquera, Rayan Ait-Nori, Jose Sa and Bedenguz Bolla this summer via transfers, while also signing Francisco Trincao from Barcelona.
