Indian bowler Yuzvendra Chahal reveals how his wife Dhanashree Verma supported him with his form during his bad phase.
Chahal has been a regular in the Indian squad since bowling the 6/25 thriller against England in a T20I match that turned the game upside down. He also played for India during the 2019 World Cup in England, and with 63 wickets, the leg spinner is currently the highest wicket player for India in the T20 competition.
Dhanashree Verma told me not to take wickets every day: Yuzvendra Chahal
Chahal could only pick four wickets from seven games in the first half of IPL 2021, and according to him, it was his bad condition where his wife told him it was just a bad phase.
” Bad form played a bit in my mind, especially after the IPL. I sat down with my wife Dhanashree who helped me. “She told me not to take wickets every day, it’s just a bad phase,” Chahal told Aakash Chopra on the latter’s YouTube channel.
‘I knew I bowled well, but sometimes in T20 cricket it is very difficult to take wickets if a batsman does not attack. It affects you if you do not have wickets to show in the column, ”he added.
I see the messages from people, it feels good to be loved: Yuzvendra Chahal
Chahal was included in India’s limited team against Sri Lanka in July, picking five wickets from two ODIs and conceding one wicket in his only T20I match in the three-match series.
Chahal was excluded from India’s T20 World Cup squad, while Mumbai Indians’ leg spinner preferred Rahul Chahar over him. The bowler said he feels good about seeing people’s supportive messages.
‘I see the messages from people, it feels good to be loved. It is your neighbor who picks you up when you are down, ”said Chahal.
Chahal are currently with the RCB team as they prepare for the second phase of IPL 2021, and they will face Kolkata Knight Riders at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on September 20.
