Greening-Steer fractured his spine and suffered a moderate to severe traumatic brain injury in June 2019. His total damages claim amounts to £4,924,418. The other driver’s lawyers argue that the evidence suggests he has exaggerated his symptoms to inflate the value of his claim.
The defence contends that Greening-Steer’s claim should be valued at just £112,022. They assert that he has been dishonest throughout the process. Charles Woodhouse KC stated, “Liability is admitted, but the claimant has deliberately lied about and exaggerated the extent of his ongoing symptoms and their impact on him to deliberately inflate the value of his claim.”
Greening-Steer also claims he needs a dog walker at an annual cost of £160,655. An unnamed medic commented on the situation: “Conscious exaggeration is clearly depicted. I am strongly of the view that he is malingering to enhance the value of his claim.” This highlights the serious implications for his case.
