Filming for the highly anticipated seventh series of Line of Duty has begun in Belfast. This season features both returning favorites and new cast members.
As of early Tuesday, fans are excited to see AC-12 disbanded and rebranded as the Inspectorate of Police Standards. The last series aired in 2021.
Joining the cast is Robert Carlyle, who will play Detective Constable Shaun Massie. Christina Chong will portray DI Nicky Rogerson.
Creator Jed Mercurio expressed gratitude towards the show’s fans, stating, “Everyone involved in Line of Duty feels enormous gratitude to the show’s fans.”
He also commented on the challenges posed by writing during a time when corruption was supposedly under control: “Corruption in this country is supposed to have come to an end while Line of Duty was off air, so I’ve been forced to use my imagination.”
Viewers can look forward to watching the new series on BBC iPlayer and BBC One next year. Series one through six are currently available for streaming.
The filming location at Belfast City Airport has drawn attention from locals and fans alike. The buzz around the set indicates strong interest in how this season will unfold.
No specific timeline for the release has been shared yet. Further details about additional cast members or plot developments are also pending confirmation.
