Nadia Fares has died at the age of 57.
She was found unconscious in a luxury gym swimming pool in Paris on April 11, 2026.
Fares was discovered after swimming laps. She suffered a cardiac arrest before being placed in a medically induced coma.
As of midday April 17, her daughters announced her passing. They expressed immense sadness over their loss.
“It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Nadia Fares this Friday,” they stated.
They further added, “France has lost a great artist, but for us, it is above all a mother we have just lost.”
Cylia Chasman, one of her daughters, shared her heartbreak: “Mama. This is a heartbreak I will never get over.”
Nadia Fares was born in Morocco in 1968. She rose to fame in 2000 with her breakthrough role in the film ‘Les Rivières pourpres.’
Fares had undergone multiple health challenges, including brain surgery due to an aneurysm in 2007 and three heart surgeries within four years prior to her death.
She was set to direct her first feature film later this year. Details remain unconfirmed regarding future projects or tributes planned.
Fares is survived by her two daughters, Cylia and Shana Chasman. They now face the difficult journey of mourning their mother while reflecting on her artistic legacy.
