Ross Davidson, a former Spandau Ballet singer, was sentenced to 14 years in prison for multiple rapes and sexual assaults against six women. His crimes included voyeurism and were substantiated by videos he recorded of the acts.

The offences occurred between August 2013 and December 2019. Davidson’s arrest on May 1, 2019, for a separate offence led authorities to discover videos of his crimes on his digital devices.

Davidson faced charges for a total of 17 sexual offences. These included two counts of rape, an attempted rape, three sexual assaults, and two charges of voyeurism. He pleaded guilty to one count of voyeurism during his second trial.

Five of the six victims attended his sentencing hearing. One victim-survivor stated, “Seeing Ross accountable is an important moment for me, and I hope it encourages others who have experienced something similar to feel able to speak up and seek support.” Another added that speaking out about sexual violence is challenging but essential.

Detective Constable Kamila Kedadrova expressed gratitude for the victims’ support throughout the investigation. She noted that their courage contributed significantly to the outcome.

Davidson will also be subject to a sexual harm prevention order and placed on the sex offenders register for life. This ruling aims to prevent further incidents of sexual violence.

The case highlights ongoing issues surrounding sexual assault and victim support within the criminal justice system. Advocates stress the importance of encouraging victims to come forward and seek help.
