SEGA has officially confirmed that a sequel to the acclaimed horror game Alien: Isolation is in early development. This announcement comes with a teaser video titled “False Sense of Security.”
The teaser is 25 seconds long. It features a locked sliding panel door that changes from red to green, indicating it is unlocked. Observers noted the iconic save telephone booth from the first game appears in the video.
Additionally, the teaser hints at a larger area that seems to be outdoors and set in the rain. This suggests players may not be confined to a space station this time around.
The original Alien: Isolation was released in 2014 and acted as its own sequel to the 1979 film directed by Ridley Scott. Creative Assembly aims to capture the atmosphere and terror of the original movie while introducing new enemies and improved AI for the Xenomorph.
Al Hope, Creative Director of Alien: Isolation, expressed gratitude for fans’ support over the years. He stated, “It’s hard to believe that it has been 10 years since we embarked on our journey with the release of ALIEN: ISOLATION.”
The sequel may reference plot threads from Alien: Romulus, which is set around the same time. However, no details about the plot or characters have been confirmed yet.
It remains unclear if Amanda Ripley will return as a protagonist or if players will control a new character altogether. Anticipation grows among fans of horror games as they await more information on this exciting project.
