Early Tuesday, the US Embassy in London issued a security alert for Americans visiting Jewish and American institutions in Britain. This warning comes amid a concerning rise in arson attacks targeting these sites.
On March 23, four Hatzola ambulances were set ablaze in Golders Green, London. This incident marked the beginning of a series of arson attempts against Jewish institutions.
Subsequent incidents included an arson attempt at the Finchley Reform Synagogue. Bottles containing accelerants were used in this attack, indicating a deliberate and dangerous escalation.
Moreover, a burning container was thrown into the car park of Iran International during another attempted arson. A building previously associated with a Jewish group was also targeted with bottles of accelerants.
Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamia claimed responsibility for these incidents. They issued a chilling warning stating, “Seventy-two hours. The time limit is approaching its end. No execution equals no second chance. Time is running out. Move now before it’s too late.” This threat adds urgency to the already tense situation.
As of midday, the US Embassy advised American citizens to remain alert and exercise increased caution when visiting these institutions. Officials have not confirmed any specific plans to enhance security measures.
