Two lucky savers became millionaires overnight after winning the £1 million jackpot in the May 2026 Premium Bonds draw. The winners are from Suffolk and the Scottish Highlands and Islands. Each held a winning bond, purchased in different years.
As of early Tuesday, the total number of prizes distributed in this draw reached 5,947,523. The total value of all prizes awarded was £376,180,825.
The odds of winning any prize were approximately 23,000 to 1 for each £1 saved in Premium Bonds. The prize fund rate stood at 3.3%.
Key details about the winners:
The first winner is from Suffolk with bond number 567VN857011, purchased in January 2024. and The second winner is from the Scottish Highlands and Islands with bond number 643SE292364, purchased in September 2025.
Winners can check their results starting from May 2 using the Premium Bonds prize checker app or the NS&I website. Over 99% of prizes have been successfully paid to winners since draws began in 1957.
This month alone, there were also 17,682 prizes distributed worth between £1,000 and £100,000. The smallest prize amount is £25 while the largest remains at £1 million.
Officials have not disclosed any further details about the winners or how they plan to use their newfound wealth.
