Rachel Kerr, a 31-year-old British travel influencer, was reported missing in Morocco after checking out of her hotel. She was last seen leaving the SMART Nightclub in Agadir around 5am on April 25. Her phone was turned off after leaving the resort, and she had not been heard from since.
Her family expressed extreme concern for her welfare as they could not reach her. Rachel was in Morocco for a work trip and had been staying at the Caribbean Village hotel.
As of midday on April 26, Rachel Kerr has been found safe and is in the care of her family. Claire Hill, Rachel’s cousin, confirmed the news saying, “Rachel has now been traced and is safe in the care of family. Thank you to those who provided information and support.” Peter Kerr, her brother, added gratitude for those who shared the appeal for information.
The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) is supporting Rachel’s family during this time. Observers are relieved at the news but still question the exact circumstances of Rachel’s disappearance.
While she is safe now, the timeline leading up to her being reported missing raises concerns about safety for travelers.
