Osman was not alone; 67 recipients were honoured by the Princess Royal on the same day. Bill Bailey received an MBE for services to entertainment, while Marcus Wareing also received an MBE for culinary arts and broadcasting.
Osman mentioned, “I felt very nervous going in there.” He recalled the brief moment of meeting Princess Anne: “shake hands, walk back, bow, and walk off.”
In 2022, Osman met his wife, Ingrid Oliver, on the set of Richard Osman’s House of Games. He stepped down from hosting the show in March 2026.
