Chirayu Rana has filed a lawsuit against Lorna Hajdini, alleging sexual harassment and racial abuse. This legal action is currently underway in the New York County Supreme Court. The lawsuit was initially submitted under the pseudonym ‘John Doe’.
As of early Tuesday, JPMorgan Chase & Co has publicly accused Rana of fabricating his claims. An internal investigation conducted by the bank reportedly found no evidence to support Rana’s allegations. A spokesperson for JPMorgan stated, “Following an investigation, we don’t believe there’s any merit to these claims.”
Rana, a 35-year-old investment professional, previously worked at JPMorgan in its leveraged finance team. He is now a principal at Bregal Sagemount. Notably, he was not working directly under Hajdini but was a colleague in the finance team.
Lorna Hajdini has denied all allegations against her. She stated that she has never engaged in inappropriate conduct and described Rana’s accusations as a complete fabrication. An unnamed source close to Hajdini added, “He has tarnished her with a complete fabrication.”
The allegations include serious accusations—Hajdini allegedly drugged Rana and threatened to slash his bonus if he didn’t comply with her demands. The case has drawn attention to broader issues of workplace misconduct and abuse of power within corporate environments.
As of midday Tuesday, no trial date has been confirmed for this high-profile lawsuit. Observers are closely monitoring the situation, particularly given the serious nature of the claims involved.
Rana’s identification as ‘John Doe’ remains contested. The outcome of this case could have significant implications for both parties involved.
