Matt Fitzpatrick won the RBC Heritage by beating Scottie Scheffler in a play-off. This victory marks his second PGA Tour title of the season.
Fitzpatrick entered the final round with a three-shot lead. However, he carded a bogey on the 18th hole, which sent him into a play-off.
Both players finished the tournament with a score of 18 under par. Fitzpatrick clinched the win by making a birdie on the first extra hole.
This win is significant—it is Fitzpatrick’s fourth PGA Tour title since turning professional. He is now ranked world No 3.
Si Woo Kim finished third at the RBC Heritage, scoring 16 under par. Scottie Scheffler has now finished second for two consecutive weeks.
Fitzpatrick previously won the Valspar Championship in March 2023. He is also the fourth Englishman to win multiple PGA Tour titles in the same season.
“I felt like I got off to a great start,” said Fitzpatrick after his win. Scottie Scheffler praised him, stating, “He definitely earned the win, and he just played great golf.”
Looking ahead, the PGA Tour will head to Louisiana for the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Details remain unconfirmed regarding any upcoming changes to the tour schedule.
