A serious incident unfolded early Tuesday in Mayfair, London. A car struck multiple pedestrians outside Inca Restaurant and Bar on Argyll Street.
The crash occurred at 4:30 a.m., during a time when many clubs and venues were still open. A 29-year-old woman driver was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
As of midday, authorities confirmed that a woman in her 30s is in critical condition. She was among those struck by the vehicle.
A man in his 50s sustained life-changing injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment. Additionally, a third woman, also in her 30s, received care for minor injuries.
The Metropolitan Police have stated that this case is not being treated as terror-related. DCI Alison Foxwell expressed concern for the victims, saying, “As our enquiries continue, our thoughts are with those injured and their loved ones.”
Eyewitnesses are being urged to come forward. DCI Foxwell added, “I would urge anyone who witnessed the collision, or any activity prior to it that they feel may be of relevance, to come forward.”
