D4vd, born David Anthony Burke, was arrested early Tuesday in Los Angeles. He is suspected of murdering 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
Rivas Hernandez’s body was discovered in a Tesla registered to D4vd. The vehicle contained two black bags with dismembered body parts.
She had been reported missing in April 2024. Her brother stated she was on her way to watch a movie with D4vd before she disappeared.
Rivas Hernandez’s body was found in September 2025—just one day before what would have been her 15th birthday.
D4vd is currently being held without bail. His lawyers maintain his innocence and assert that no indictment has been returned against him.
According to them, “David has only been detained under suspicion.” They emphasize that there has been no criminal complaint filed.
The LA County District Attorney’s office will review the case for formal charges. Prosecutors will assess whether sufficient evidence exists to file charges.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding the nature of the relationship between D4vd and Rivas Hernandez.
D4vd gained fame in 2022 with his hit song “Romantic Homicide.” He was on tour when Rivas Hernandez’s body was found, which led to the cancellation of his tour.
This case has drawn significant media attention due to D4vd’s celebrity status and the tragic circumstances surrounding Rivas Hernandez’s death.
